Short Finals

G-AHSS, an Auster J/1N Alpha, drifts over the five-bar gate on the threshold of the runway at Finmere aerodrome. Finmere, the remnants of a wartime RAF station, was for many years the home of the Vintage Aircraft Club which organised regular fly-ins - gatherings of general aviation pilots and aircraft. The black & white ex-RAF control cabin carries the VAC logo on its end. The Vintage Aircraft Club is no longed based here, having moved to another airfield near Silverstone.
