Thorp's Shaw, East Sussex

Betony at Compasses Gate

Uploader's Comments

This strong colony of betony (Stachys officinalis) flourishes on the west bank of the B2244. The plant is nowhere near as common as it used to be in this part of East Sussex and its decline is largely due to the alteration and loss of habitat.
