Taken from one of the car parks on the long western coast of Walney Island looking roughly westwards towards the setting sun. Walney Island faces the Irish Sea along this coast, protecting the Furness Peninsula by bearing the brunt of storm and surge. It is famous for its sunsets, often far more spectacular than this one.
