Long Rigg Beck, Cumbria

Snow in the Howgills

Uploader's Comments

As the track from Four Lane Ends rounds the southern end of Castley Knotts a forward view opens up of the deeply enclosed valley of Long Rigg Beck with its fine surround of Howgill summits. Ahead is the high col of Windscarth Wyke with Bush Howe and White Fell to the right. My walk today took me to the ford over the beck then the steep bridleway onto the appropriately-named White Fell (where I experienced an almost complete white-out!).
