Loch Sunart, Highland

Paddling from Caol Ch

Uploader's Comments

Early in the third day of a three-day trip round the Morvern peninsula, we have just paddled with the start of the ebb tide into Loch Sunart, where further eastward progress will be against the ebb, which is, fortunately, a weak stream everywhere except the narrows just before our take-out. This southern shore of the Loch is road-free, but readily accessible by boat and fairly sheltered, whilst a road runs along the north shore, not far away, so it doesn't have the sense of isolation that often accompanies a paddle along a roadless coast in Scotland.
