Loch Eilean na Craoibhe Mòire, Highland

Ancient Lewisian gneiss formation

Uploader's Comments

This is the eastward continuation of the outcrop shown in [[[1146569]]]. It has a very distinctive banding pattern and also an almost "Loch Ness Monster" appearance as it emerges and disappers into the overlying soil. Three of its 'humps' are shown here, the foreground, the middle distance and the rear one with a large pillar at the left.
