'Forest-to-bog Project'

Uploader's Comments

Among the justifications given by the RSPB for clearing the Flow forestry is that the bog is a huge 'carbon' store. Why there is a requirement to protect a carbon store is unclear to me - perhaps they mean carbon dioxide and are just being sloppy in their terminology! Even if you believe that carbon dioxide is the greatest threat to the planet since Noah's flood, it must be a close call as to whether trees or bog provide the most effective way of containing it. There may be other good wildlife related reasons for re-establishing the bog, but convinced by the 'global-warming' threat I ain't.
