Site of former Irchester station

View NW from the B569 bridge, towards Wellingborough, Kettering and the North: ex-Midland Main Line from London St Pancras. The single line on the right is the Slow line, formerly double-track, which had been built in 1880-84 with a tunnel under Souldrop Summit for goods trains to avoid the steep gradients of the original route; it was singled in 1987. Irchester station was closed to passengers 7/3/60, to goods 4/1/65.
