The gate in question is just to the left of the barn; it's the frequently used starting point for the traverse of the Carn Mairg group of mountains on the north side of Glen Lyon. Over a period of years there have been reports of difficulties in accessing the route via the gate... it's been found to be locked and there have been discouraging notices placed by the owning estate. The photographer has made the traverse of the range twice including on the date the image was recorded and met with no problems on either occasion, but they do occur... see - https://www.ukclimbing.com/news/item/68586/blatant_flouting_of_access_law_condemned
