Halleypike Lough, Northumberland

Interesting boulder at Davy's Lee

Uploader's Comments

A limestone boulder appears to have been partially altered by heat, probably from the intrusion of the nearby Whin Sill, giving it an appearance like marble. Two arrays of small holes in the altered surface are possibly the remains of fossil inclusions.
