This gateway leads to Nanhoron, the home for over 700 years of one family which in its time produced more than its fair share of colourful characters including rabid Puritans, eccentric Royal Navy captains and soldiers of fortune. The present mansion dates from the 1790s. The last Edwards to live here died the late 1930s.
