View northward, towards Southampton Water: cf. [[[2201729]]]. Until the line was closed from 21/9/53, Carisbrooke Halt on the Newport (right) - Freshwater (left) line was about 300 yards beyond the church. The Castle is off to the right and Parkhurst Prison off to the left.
