This is the base of the Llanfoist Inclines. Trams(two replicas are pictured), loaded with iron products from Blaenavon were brought along Hill's Tramroad high up on the Blorenge. At the top of Cwm Craf (behind) they attached to chains/cables and lowered down steep inclines to Llanfoist Wharf and onward shipping on the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal.
