Station Quarry

Uploader's Comments

This large chalk pit east of Ashwell & Morden railway station is linked to Omya UK's Whiting Works by a covered conveyor. The other end of it appears in Mike W Hallett's [[[1477150]]]. M J Richardson's aerial photo [[[4740297]]] shows the two chalk pits, which produce a fine calcium carbonate used in industry and food processing.
