Some confusion over the official line of the path here. This overgrown point is on the official line, which runs west and north of the pond, but the de facto line (rather overgrown, but passable) runs south and east. A footpath sign at the northeast corner indicates the defacto, rather than the official, line. The area beyond this hedge used to be a golf course, now defunct, which I suspect has something to do with the confusion.
