Aunt Sally backdrop at public house

Uploader's Comments

Aunt Sally is a game in which players throw sticks or balls at a model of an old woman's head. Beside this suspended fabric backdrop is a blackboard marked for three rounds (legs or horses) by the members of home and away teams. As a pub game it is apparently confined to Oxfordshire; this is at the Shepherd's Crook in Crowell, Oxfordshire. It is seen more generally as a fairground game.
