Still a local boundary today the lane near the crossroads was the boundary of the lands of Owain Glyndwr & and the Norman Lord, Reginald de Grey of Ruthin. In September 1400 when Henry IV gave disputed common land to the Normans, a furious Glyndwr burnt Ruthin to the ground beginning a 15 year war of independence. [[[129152]]]
