Church Close Plantation, Devon

North Devon coastal afternoon-Lynton

Uploader's Comments

An afternoon walk for some course members attending courses at the nearby Lee Abbey Centre. Lee Abbey has been a Christian retreat, conference and holiday centre since 1946. There was a house on this site in the 17th century and the Abbey was built in 1850, becoming an hotel in 1924. Abbey is a little misleading as there are no monks or nuns, but there are people from many countries working as temporary staff here. At the centre of an extensive estate with paths and woodland such as this one, it makes an excellent place for a holiday.
