Clump of Snowdrops (Galanthus nivalis)

Uploader's Comments

Dainty little snowdops were growing in clumps amidst the bracken by the side of the road at Cholesbury Bottom. Note the little green inverted V at the base of the inner petals - this is a little store of chlorophyll which the plant has in its petals to help sustain it at a time of low sunlight, maximising its ability to photosynthesize. Too see this clump in its setting, see [[[2844375]]]
