Bloom Wood, Buckinghamshire

Bloom Wood

Uploader's Comments

A very odd, semi-derelict landscape. Trees survive despite the diggings that have gone on all around them. Nigel Cox suggests that the area was dug for flints: http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/98143 The Bucks Tree Club website suggests that Bloom Wood is ancient woodland - though the grid reference given does not match exactly: https://sites.google.com/site/buckstreeclub/ancient-woodlands I have to say that in early February it looked more like secondary woodland establishing itself on a mineral extraction site.
