Many of the coniferous forests planted in and after the mid twentieth century are now being harvested. The Google satellite images haven't caught up with felling progress here yet. The road is the old drover's route from Abergwesyn via Cwm Tywi and Soar-y-Mynydd, Llanddewi-Brefi is still another three miles (about five kilometres) ahead - single track all the way.
