Uphill, par. and vil. (ry. sta. Bleadon and Uphill), Somerset, at mouth of river Axe, and at head of Uphill Bay, 2 miles S. of Weston-super-Mare, 1697 ac. (620 water), pop. 645; P.O.; Uphill Castle is the seat of the Knyfton family; Uphill Cave, discovered in 1826, is a bone cave; the old church, which stands on a hill, is a well-known landmark.
