Mucklestone (or Muxton), township, Staffordshire, and par., partly also in Shropshire, 4 ½ miles NE. of Market Dray ton - par., 8531 ac., pop. 1613; township, 3240 ac., pop. 763; from the tower of the church Margaret of Anjou, in 1459, witnessed the defeat of the Lancastrians on Bloreheath.
